Calendar announced for July 14 at the French Institute Alliance Française

The French Institute of the Alliance Française (FIAF) announces further details on the annual July 14, which takes place for the first time this year on the famous Madison Ave. from New York. For more than 20 years, the FIAF has hosted the biggest celebration of the French National Day, July 14 on 60th Street.

This year’s event will span Madison Ave. and will include live music and dance performances, wine and champagne tastings, a special screening of the film Azuro, exciting raffles and over 40 stalls showcasing the best of French cuisine and Francophile culture.

FREE LIVE ENTERTAINMENT

Outdoor stage location: 59th Street (down the street from FIAF’s Florence Gould Hall)

12:30 p.m.: Opening speech by FIAF and NYC representatives
1 p.m.: Preview of the French musical Notre Dame de Paris
1:45 p.m.: Dance performance by Cal Hunt and street dancers
3 p.m.: Roots/blues singer Paul Beaubrun and his band
4 p.m.: DJ Orson

More than 40 top French food, beauty, fashion, culture and travel suppliers will be showcased at this year’s July 14 party. The French Garden returns with high-end boutiques featuring exclusive food, clothing and accessories from French boutiques.

FIAF Language Center instructors will lead this year’s selection of family activities. Kids can enjoy a Tour de France-themed arts and crafts corner, while adults can take part in a lively French quiz to win prizes.
